The Best Bra Buying Advice I Ever Received
The best piece of advice I've ever received about buying a bra is to get measured! Go to the store and have the sales person measure you. This will ensure a proper fit as it is so easy to buy the wrong size bra and even wear it!
Your next choice will be underwire or not. Generally, if you're not "well endowed" in the breast department, you won't need an underwire bra. Underwire does have some benefits, namely giving support and sometimes being more comfortable.
Once you get that figured out, there are a number of choices! Padded or not, strapless or convertible straps, colors or neutrals, back clasp or front. Try on some styles in the store. To make sure they fit properly (even after measuring), make sure that the shoulder straps don’t fall down, the back strap doesn’t ride up and that you’re not falling out of or swimming in the cups. The cups should gently support your breast; cup coverage will vary depending on the style in question.
Keep in mind that some bras will work better under certain things. For instance, you wouldn’t want to wear the same bra under a t-shirt that you’d wear under a slinky, silky top. The fabric won’t flow properly over the material. Contrary to popular belief, wearing a bra doesn’t have to be a pain, in fact, it can be quite pleasant if you get the right fit!
